For the month of January, we will be watching westerns set primarily in snowy landscapes.  The feeling of isolation is heightened in these tales of outlaws, sheriffs, and bounty hunters.

On this night, we are watching Andre De Toth's 1959 film "Day of the Outlaw" starring Robert Ryan, Burl Ives, and Tina Louise.

Blaise Starrett is a rancher at odds with homesteaders when outlaws hold up the small town. The outlaws are held in check only by their notorious leader, but he is diagnosed with a fatal wound and the town is a powder keg waiting to blow.
