For the month of September, we will be watching movies from the silent era.  See early works by renowned Hollywood directors Alfred Hitchcock, Josef von Sternberg, Ernst Lubitsch, and Anthony Asquith.  It will probably take some time to acclimate yourself to the style, but you might be surprised at how much of the techniques we see as modern were being used in 1920s.

On this night, we are watching Anthony Asquith's 1929 film "A Cottage on Dartmoor" starring Uno Henning, Norah Baring, and Hans Schlettow.

A jealous barber’s assistant becomes enraged by the attentions the manicurist he’s obsessed with and a repeat customer pay to one another.
