Event Details

For the month of July, we'll be showing screwball comedies from the 1930s.  Screwball comedies were a type of romantic comedy popular during the 1930s and 40s.  They used fast, witty dialogue coupled with outlandish situations to satirize social class and gender dynamics.

On this night, we are watching Howard Hawks' 1934 film "Twentieth Century" starring John Barrymore and Carole Lombard.

A flamboyant Broadway impresario who has fallen on hard times tries to get his former lover, now a Hollywood diva, to return and resurrect his failing career.
