Event Details

For the month of July, we'll be showing screwball comedies from the 1930s.  Screwball comedies were a type of romantic comedy popular during the 1930s and 40s.  They used fast, witty dialogue coupled with outlandish situations to satirize social class and gender dynamics.

On this night, we are watching Howard Hawks' 1938 film "Bringing Up Baby" starring Katharine Hepburn and Cary Grant.

While trying to secure a donation for his museum, a befuddled paleontologist is pursued by a flighty and often irritating heiress and her pet leopard, Baby.
