Event Details

Spring is a great time of year to get outside, enjoy the weather and observe those six-legged creatures we call insects!  Stop by the Schlagle Library anytime during our open hours to borrow a butterfly net and critter keeper.  You may go outside on the trail or library grounds to catch insects.  Feel free to bring them back to the library and we can help you identify them.  (Library card or driver's license needed to reserve library equipment.)  All insects collected will be returned back to nature.

We will have a "Bug Jar" craft for you to take home.  Also, for every insect book you check out (juvenile and adult books), you will receive one entry into our drawing for a great insect collecting set, which includes a telescopic butterfly net, insect tent, magnifying glass and National Geographic insect field guide.  A winner will be chosen at the end of May.
