Event Details

Join us for the 16th year of this wonderful family program! Grab a net and hunt for butterflies, help tag Monarch butterflies as we send them off on their journey to Mexico, or challenge yourself to our Monarch Migration game! We will have a butterfly storytime, face painting, a butterfly walk and scavenger hunt, take home craft kits, a station to make "seed bombs", a butterfly release tent, "Senorita Mariposa" storystroll outside, and lots of resources for native gardens and gardening for pollinators!  We will also have local author Eric Eaton in attendance with signed copies of "Wasps: The Astonishing Diversity of a Misunderstood Insect" for sale and his extensive collection of insects displays and biofacts. During the event, we will announce the winners of our annual insect photography contest. Please check back soon for an itinerary of the day.
