For the month of January, we will be watching westerns set primarily in snowy landscapes.  The feeling of isolation is heightened in these tales of outlaws, sheriffs, and bounty hunters.

On this night, we are watching Sergio Corbucci's 1968 film "The Great Silence" starring Jean-Louis Trintignant and Klaus Kinski.

A mute gunfighter defends a young widow and a group of outlaws against a gang of bounty killers in the winter of 1898, and a grim, tense struggle unfolds.
